  • Ongoing meetings stand out — meetings happening right now get a red LIVE badge and tint, so they're easy to tell apart from your next meeting at a glance.
  • Stream Deck stays connected — the integration now recovers on its own if its connection drops (for example after your Mac has been asleep for a while), so the buttons keep working without needing to restart the app.
  • Mic / camera indicator is reliable in the background — the on-screen status icon now shows the correct state even when the Google Meet tab is on another Space or behind other windows; it used to get stuck showing "off".

  • Declined meetings are marked — events you've declined now show struck-through and dimmed so they don't get confused with the ones you're attending, and they no longer trigger pre-meeting alerts. Don't want to see them at all? Turn on Settings → General → "Hide declined events".
  • Faster update checks — the app now checks for new versions twice a day instead of once.

  • Updates install automatically — daily checks download and install new versions silently in the background, applied next time you quit or relaunch, instead of popping up a dialog. Prefer to be asked first? Turn it off in Settings → About → "Install updates automatically".

  • Anonymous install counts — the app now includes a random, anonymous install ID with its existing once-a-day update check, so we can see how many people use What's Next, on which versions, and in which countries. No IP, no personal data, and nothing about your calendar — see the updated Privacy policy.

  • Security hardening — a full security pass across the app: the install helper now verifies the calling app's signature before doing anything, the Stream Deck bridge is authenticated with a per-install secret (so only the real plugin can drive it), meeting links on unknown hosts are no longer auto-opened without a deliberate click, and tokens are pinned to this device.
  • No more duplicate window after updating — installing an update now cleanly replaces the running app instead of occasionally leaving a second copy alive.
  • Stream Deck plugin update required — the bridge now authenticates, so the plugin must be updated to v0.4.6 (download below) for the buttons to reconnect.

  • Auto-update fixed — sandboxed builds were shipping with an unexpanded entitlement variable, which stopped Sparkle from launching its installer ("An error occurred while running the updater"). The release signing now bakes in the real bundle identifier so the in-app updater works end-to-end.

  • Tighter alert stack — when two or more meetings fire their pre-meeting alert at the same time, the stacked notifications now sit close together instead of leaving a ~60 pt gap of empty space between each card.

  • Auto-update — the app now checks for new versions every 24 hours and offers a one-click install. You can also force a check any time from Settings → About → Check for updates. Updates are signed end-to-end with an EdDSA key, so the installer refuses anything it can't verify.

  • Popover fits the screen — on busy days with several ongoing meetings the popover used to overflow a 13" laptop screen, drop its arrow chevron and overlap the menu bar. The whole agenda now scrolls inside a capped area so the popover stays anchored to the menu-bar icon.
  • Quieter Join button — the bright keyboard focus halo no longer appears around the green Join Google Meet / Join Microsoft Teams buttons when the popover gains focus.
  • Branded DMG — the mounted volume now carries the WhatsNext icon instead of the generic disk glyph.

  • Long-meeting badge — the ongoing-meeting countdown now switches to Xh LEFT once you're more than an hour in, so all-hands and workshops stop reading as 762 MIN LEFT.

  • Meet controls — 17 customisable hotkeys (mute, camera, hand, focus, share, leave, ten reactions) backed by a 180×180 HUD overlay.
  • Live mic indicator — the menu-bar icon switches to a mic glyph while you're in a call, red when muted. Configurable in Settings → Meetings.
  • Leave-call cleanup — hanging up also closes the Google Meet tab in Chrome.
  • Stream Deck integration — a localhost WebSocket bridge that the companion plugin connects to. Toggle buttons stay in sync with what you do in the browser.
  • Fix — Meet state polling now correctly parses Google's JSON response (a prefix mismatch was silently dropping every update).
